We have host positions in a variety of circumstances and with a variety of remunerations depending upon the number of sites and degree of use at each host position. Most positions begin between mid-May and mid-June and end mid-September.
Collecting fees and recording daily use records
Enforcing camp rules
Inspecting camping units daily for cleanliness and repair
Supplying toilets with toilet paper
Cleaning toilets and outhouses
Cleaning tables of grease and food spills
Stocking drop boxes with new fee envelopes
Posting reservation signs and verifying ID of occupant with records
Tallying and recording daily receipts for deposit
Depositing intact receipts at financial institution
Other light duties necessary to the efficient operation of the campground
Must compliance check in evenings, rest of time is flexible timing/comp time and days off by arrangement up to one week
Inspection and cleaning done during morning hours usually
Fee collecting is usually done from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Monthly salary based on work variables
Campsite provided for camper/trailer
Completion bonus up to $100 per month
Gas allowance for mileage incurred when checking campgrounds
Must reside at designated campground
Provide own camper/trailer plus storage tent for operating supplies
Provide own set of basic carpentry tools: hammer, saw, screwdrivers, tape measure, etc. (optional)
Current CPR certification (optional)
Must complete training sessions required by the Forest Service and participate in an initial, and then, monthly training sessions put on by GCC.
